Small orange crop makes juice prices soar

Orange juice prices have increased 20 percent in the past year, although demand has decreased by 11 percent according to the Florida Department of Citrus. Growers report sales are still going strong thanks to health-conscience advertisements. This year’s projected orange crop will be the smallest since the 1989-90 freeze season. Read more here

Vero Beach struggles for aviation firm Piper

Vero Beach is hoping to keep its aviation firm, Piper, from relocating to another manufacturing site in the United States. The prospective relocation sites include Tallahassee, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Oklahoma. Piper currently employs 1,029 workers in Vero Beach. Read more here
